NAWBO awards two membership scholarships
Two New WNY Entrepreneurs Awarded Membership
to WNY’s Premier Women’s Business Organization
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. April 13, 2017 In keeping with its mission to support WNY’s women entrepreneurs, the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) awarded scholarships for an annual memberships to two women-owned businesses this week.
NAWBO chapters throughout the country represent a diverse and eclectic collection of professions and industries. Women business owners find an influential network of support and guidance catered to their specific needs as members of the NAWBO sisterhood. NAWBO provides the foundation necessary for women entrepreneurs to build economically strong businesses and develop powerful social and political networks.
In an effort to expand the success enjoyed by so many NAWBO members, two emerging entrepreneurs have been chosen to receive membership to the Buffalo Niagara Chapter. Lisa Coppola, president of the local chapter, explained the decision to offer membership scholarships for the first time. “NAWBO’s bold step of offering two membership scholarships reflects its desire to embrace the ever-growing economic engine created by WNY’s women entrepreneurs. Our two awardees could not be more deserving. Nadeen Yousef, owner of Macrame by Nadeen, and Jodie M. Ricks, owner of Intuitive Cleaning Solutions, Inc., earned the membership awards because they consistently exhibit qualities consistent with the NAWBO mission.”
Macrame by Nadeen is located inside the West Side Bazaar on Grant Street on Buffalo’s budding West Side. Nadeen fled her war-torn home in Iraq with her family to find safety and security in the United States. She launched her business with a single item. Since then her merchandise has expanded considerably and her inventory continues to grow. Nadeen personally represents optimism and opportunity in the face of conflict and struggle.
Intuitive Cleaning Solutions, Inc., owned by Jodie Ricks, is a professional janitorial cleaning company. Jodie launched her franchised business in April 2016 and swiftly made her mark in the area. She is committed to providing the best service possible with EPA-approved products, advanced HEPA equipment, and unmatched cleaning protocols. Her swift gains in business mean she is continually searching for high-quality employees to expand her reach.
