Nakiea Cook, MBA, CFEI (team@ncacsolutions.com)

Nakiea Cook is your unconventional accountant, practitioner, and educator. She is the founder of NC Accounting & Consulting Solutions, an accounting firm specializing in CFO, bookkeeping, tax, and accounting services for small businesses. She is the founder of the EverythingkieaProject, a nonprofit educating youth on finances and cash flow.

Nakiea’s unconventional side comes from her love of analyzing numbers and knowing they tell a story. She has a strong background in government auditing and maximizing marginalized small businesses’ profit and revenue potential, which leads her to be requested to speak for various community organizations.

She is also a participant in the Annual Filing Season Program and is listed in the public directory of tax return preparers published by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). She is Certified as a Financial Education Instructor, QuickBooks Online Pro, and Financial Management by the DoD. She is also an adjunct professor at Erie Community College, teaching accounting in the Business and Public Service Division. VP of Operations for the WNY Chapter of the National Black MBA Association, Treasurer for the Alleyway Theatre Inc., and the National Association of Women’s Business Owners Buffalo Niagara Chapter. She is MWBE Certified in NYS & NYC.

Denise is a partner in the Buffalo office of The Bonadio Group with over 30 years of professional experience. She also serves as the Team Leader for the Buffalo Commercial Audit Team and Small Business Advisory Team and as the Buffalo Office Managing Partner.

Denise has a strong background in several industries and has helped many large and small clients maximize their business potential. She has assisted clients with analyzing overall profitability and developing action plans. Denise is known for her strong personal skills and the energy she brings to helping businesses reach their goals.

She is a nationally recognized expert in employee benefit plans and has over 30 years of in-depth experience in this highly regulated area. She is a frequently requested speaker across New York State, able to explain complex rules and regulations in a way that helps people understand them. She frequently assists companies with compliance and helps them interpret the rules with practical advice. Denise is actively involved with the AICPA’s National Conference on Employee Benefit Plans, considered the premier conference in the industry, where she has taught various sessions and has served on an Ask the Experts panel.

Denise received her B.S. degree in accounting from the Jones School of Business at SUNY Geneseo. She is active in the Buffalo community and has been honored with Business First’s 40 Under 40 award for career achievements and community involvement; and was honored as a Woman in Leadership by the National Association of Women Business Owners.
