Thinking about becoming a New York State Certified Minority or Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE)?
Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Office of Employee Advocacy and Fairness is offering a free four-week NYS Certification Workshop for Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises. The program is open to businesses in any industry and is designed to help eligible business owners work through the certification process.
The workshop is facilitated by Geraldine Ford, MBA, and participants can choose from three upcoming four-week sessions in November, December, or January.
For women business owners, MWBE certification can be an important part of positioning a business to pursue opportunities with New York State agencies and other organizations seeking certified businesses. NAWBO – Buffalo/Niagara is pleased to share this free local resource with women business owners who may be ready to take that next step.
Is Your Business Eligible?
According to Roswell Park, businesses participating in the certification workshop should meet the following criteria:
- At least 51% owned by a qualifying woman or minority owner
- Independently owned and operated
- Qualifying owner’s personal net worth is under $15 million, adjusted for CPI
- Current on business tax filings
- Incorporated in New York State for at least one year

Thursdays: January 7, 14, 21 & 28
