Plans are to double the chapter’s membership, align NAWBO Buffalo Niagara with the region’s goals for economic development, and expand the influence of women entrepreneurs in economic, social & political spheres by building strategic alliances and reinforcing innovation within the regional business community —

This month Sabina Ramsey was elected to lead the NAWBO Buffalo Niagara (nawbowny.org) chapter for the next year. Ms. Ramsey is the founder and managing partner of Insight International USA, LLC, a creative design and branding agency for digital and print media (Insightinternationalusa.com).

Ms. Ramsey has been a member of NAWBO since 2007 and served on its Board of Directors since 2013 leading the organization’s communication efforts.

“I’m honored and excited to have the opportunity to serve as president of NAWBO Buffalo Niagara,” said Ms. Ramsey. “We are on a mission to create a stronger and more influential chapter supporting women entrepreneurs in all sectors with an extra emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and manufacturing. Our goal is to grow our membership base by nurturing new strategic alliances within the entrepreneurial community.

The organization leadership understands the need to reinforce New York Governor Cuomo’s goals to support women in business and create economic development on all levels.”

Ramsey continued, “We want to highlight that all types of entrepreneurship are important. We encourage start-ups and solo-entrepreneurs, and we embrace women who want to take risks, dream big, and enter sectors that are traditionally male dominated. We want NAWBO to be a place where women business owners can feel welcomed, find life-long friends, and grow their businesses through a network of people who continuously want to support, share, and learn.”

“We look forward to following Sabina’s lead as she takes NAWBO Buffalo Niagara into the future,” said Celeste DiStefano, who was part of the nominating committee and has served as past president of the NAWBO Buffalo Niagara Chapter.

Her community outreach, entrepreneurial experience, strong technical skills and marketing experience will be critical in taking our chapter to the next level. She already has created a strong footprint in the Western New York business community being involved on many levels in business. Her personal story, energy, and commitment in support of women in business make her inspirational and strong leader.”

Ms. Ramsey added, “I see a bright future for NAWBO Buffalo Niagara. With the support of the new Board of Directors, we intend to develop new strategies to embrace diversity which the chapter believes is a key to regional economic growth and sustainability. We encourage all women business owners to join the movement and attend one of our gatherings. It is going to be a fun upcoming year.”
